ll
schools in the Clark County School District have a district and a state
mandated course of study. This course of study is call the Curriculum
Essentials Framework (C.E.F.). This important "framework"
describes the most appropriate grade level skills that expected to be
taught during lessons for the Kindergarten to Fifth-grade student. The
C.E.F. is the basis for all lesson planning in our district and at our
school and is an important resource for our teachers. The C.E.F. is
a large volume of grade-level expectations, course-of-study materials
and standards. We have provided .pdf file links of the Curriculum Overviews
which are brief descriptions of a very lengthy set of standards.
We
have also included, on this page, the K-8 Power Standards. The Power
Standards are those skills in Language Arts and Mathematics that students
are expected to be taught and master at each grade level. The Power
Standards are considered to be the most important skills that student
should be able to perform as they complete each grade level. We hope
that this information will helpful to those that want to learn more
about our curriculum.
Finally,
we have provided links to various other programs that will be utilized
at Goynes to increase student mastery of curriculum and Power Standards.
If you have Acrobat
Reader you can check out an online copy of the K-5 Curriculum Overviews
and Power Standard .pdf file links below. Thank you!
